Lateral photo

From a true lateral photo taken at 90 degrees to the digit at ground level (as shown here) the templates can indicate:

  • The centre of rotation
  • Base split proportions
  • Heel-to-toe height ratio
  • Heel-to-toe angle difference
  • Pastern angle

Sole view

From a photo taken at 90 degrees to the sole the templates can show:

  • The centre of rotation
  • Heel-to-toe base proportions

These readings can then be tracked over time, and for each individual hoof, horse and client to provide objective measures of change in hoof morphology and responses to interventions.
